Corporate Profile

São Martinho is among the largest sugar-energy groups in Brazil, with an approximate crushing capacity of 24 million tons of sugarcane and an average harvest mechanization rate of 99.8%, a benchmark in the sector.

It has four units in operation: the São Martinho Plant, in Pradópolis, in the region of Ribeirão Preto (SP); the Iracema Plant, in Iracemápolis, in the region of Limeira (SP); the Santa Cruz Plant, located in Américo Brasiliense (SP); and the Boa Vista Plant, in Quirinópolis, 300 km from Goiânia (GO).

The São Martinho, Santa Cruz and Iracema plants produce sugar and ethanol, while the Boa Vista plant is dedicated exclusively to the production of ethanol. All of them generate electricity from the burning of sugarcane bagasse, guaranteeing power self-sufficiency and the sale of the surplus (except Iracema).

The company has a differentiated logistics platform for the shipping of its products, based on high storage capacity and the proximity of important highways and rail links. Because it has its own railway branch line, it is able to combine practicality and lower costs with production that is shipped in real time.

After a comprehensive professionalization process, as of February 2007, São Martinho's stock was traded on the Novo Mercado, the highest corporate governance index of the São Paulo Stock Exchange (Bovespa), under ticker symbol SMTO3.
